Smartee Pants

I think I've mentioned before that Scout can identify some shapes (circles, ovals, hearts, and triangles) and I think it's kinda cool that she can draw circles too (well, circle-esque figures, anyway). In this video, I prompt her to draw a circle, but she does it unprompted all the time and then brings her work to me, announcing what she drew. I think it's just precious. If I could, I'd save and frame every wobbly circle.

She has just started saying colors, but she doesn't regularly identify them. However, the other day, she brought her yellow shape sorter bucket to me and told me that it's "Lellow". I was pretty sure it was a fluke, since she didn't do it again after that one time. But then she surprised me in this video by telling me that her chalk was blue when I asked her what color it was. I tried quizzing her a little on colors this morning, and she just stared at me blankly. That's okay. There's no rush. She's only one and a half.

She is smart!! I love how she just wants to scribble on everything. LOL So darn cute.
And yes!! Natalie and Scout would have a blast I just know it. And I have meaning to tell you for about a week now.. ya know the video you have posted with Scout saying "mommy"? The day I caught that both of the kids saw and it too and kept laughing. I think James had me play it about 50 times. And a few days later, he asked to see it again. LOL!!

..I meant to also add, he laughs at the part where she's struggling with the blanket at the beginning.
