Scout's mattress is on the floor, and her door is never completely latched shut (because it sticks and is too loud to open and close when I want to sneak out of there), so she could easily walk out of her room whenever she wants. But for some reason, she has always stayed put after she wakes up until someone comes in to get her. Depending on her mood, she either rolls around and whines or just sits up in bed while happily talking and squealing to herself.....Until very recently.
And I can't get used to it. It's very unnerving to be sitting in a quiet house at your computer desk, thinking your baby's asleep in the other room, only to see a little person run through the hall out of the corner of your eye. Or worse, have the little creature walk up behind you while you're not paying attention and grab your pant leg while squealing "Hieeeeee!" Freaky.

Gate in her doorway? You could still step over it... just a thought I know at least with B, there are plenty of things that are "safe" because we're there, but if she were wandering the house alone at night she could get herself in a lot of trouble!

Yes - a gate is definitely in order LOL This morning she was up wandering the house for God only knows how long before she came in our bedroom and woke us up. Oops! DH's credit cards had been taken out of his wallet and were on the other end of the house, so we know that she had at least been up for a little while. It's so strange, because I've always been able to hear her as soon as she gets up because she is normally so vocal. She must wake up and run straight out of her room in stealth mode. DH is going to pick up a gate on his way home from work today. :)

She is sneaky!!! But then again, they all are so.....
LOL
I'm still pretty thankful James hasn't figured out how to open all the doors yet. He still sits on his bed in the morning waiting for us to come in and get him. LOL!! - At Thu Jun 05, 08:21:00 PM CDT, Harmony said...

Too funny :) Our bathroom door is like that...not that we try to lock her in the bathroom. But I shut all the doors in the hallway, then when she falls asleep in her room and I need to use the bathroom, the loud door wakes her up :(
