Thong-th-thong-thong-thong

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

I am turning most of Scout's onesies into tee shirts. She has a long torso and has outgrown them by length (even some of the 9 month ones!), but the shoulders and tummy still fit great. I am not good at sewing knits, so they all have a ruffly looking hem. After playing with the stitch length and tension and whatnot, I decided not to fight it and pretend that I meant for them to have a decorative "lettuce edge". Good thing I don't have a boy, or all of his tee shirts would have ruffles. I did buy some onesie extenders a while back, but I just don't like the way they look if I don't put pants on over the onesie. When paired with a big fluffy cloth diaper, it reminds me of a thong. Thongs are never cute. Especially on a baby.

Hi dawn! I've never seen that skit! my email is eipwek@makingaperson.com, if you don't mind sending me a link.

Have you ever seen the "tramp stamp" skit? I dunno what made me think of that - maybe because thongs go so nicely with lower back tattoos. (no offense to anyone who has lower back tattoos LOL)

Old Navy made the only onesies that were tall enough for Sam. Every other brand makes onesies for short fat babies. Now, I love me some short fat babies. But I do not have one. Sam would still be way too skinny for his onesies months after I stopped being able to fasten them. I cut a few into t-shirts but after a while I just started giving away the ones that were the wrong shape. It never even occurred to me to finish the cut edge.

GAWD I wish I could sew - alas it is the one Artsy thing that I suck at so I thought you did an awesome job when I thought the ruffly part was on purpose.

nice to meet ya!

hahaha!!!! That clips was freakin' hilarious!!!! I looked and looked for the thong diaper skit and can't find it! Ever since YouTube joined with google(?) it's harder to find things now. Anyways... it was Sisqo's "thong song" playing in the background while Amy Poehler and a few other moms talk about how bulky and frumpy their babies butts look. LOL And out comes the thong diaper! And I love the part where the test it with the blue water next to a regular one and the thong one falls apart in pieces instantly. Anyway..I've rambled. But that was funny. LOL
