Tummy Time
Saturday, June 30, 2007
Scout and I played on the floor for quite a while yesterday. It was really the first time she's ever just been content chillin' on her tummy for any length of time. Usually she fusses after a couple minutes. She's getting pretty good at holding her head up. I always position her so that her hands are out in front of her, thinking she might want to use her arms for leverage. Nope. She quickly puts them down to her sides, so she's left flopping around like a fish. Oddly, there's not a spot in her baby book for "first time flailing around like a fish out of water".

Oh yeah, and as you can see, she's losing just enough hair around the sides so that she looks like she's wearing a toupe.

Dye it black and she could be in the Misfits!
Funny you should say that...
I rubbed some burt's bees apricot oil into her scalp yesterday for her cradle cap. I decided that the only way baby hair coated in grease can look good is in a mohawk. I need to post a pic.
I used California Baby lavender wash on Sam's cradle cap and it was GONE after one wash. (Well, I kind of had to scrape it off. Let's not talk about that.) How's the oil working? I love Burt's Bees, and I use that oil in Sam's wipe solution. It smells sooooo good.
Most of the scaly flakes (eew) came off when I rubbed the oil on with a soft bristle tooth brush. It looks pretty good today. I finally washed out the oil this evening. I'm sure everyone at the grocery store this morning thought I had never bathed her from the looks of her nappy crisco wig!
At least she HAS hair on the sides to begin with! LOL
Bailey had a little bit of cradle cap a few weeks ago but we just put regular baby oil on her head at the beginning of the bath and then used a soft brush about 5 minutes later, then rinsed well and wiped with a washcloth, and it all came off.
