Happy Early Birthday to Me.

I know you guys are probably getting sick of my cloth diaper obsession, but I have to share my excitement. I just ordered 12 Baby BeeHinds diapers and 2 wool wraps. Woohoo! Yesterday afternoon, I had Scout in the one I had purchased to try out. She wore it COVERLESS for 2.5 hours before it even felt the slightest bit damp on the outside. If I do that with a prefold, she soaks the thing within 15 minutes. I like to let her go coverless if I can because sometimes I feel like her rear can't breathe in the polyurethane laminate covers. (hence, buying more wool) If I put a little strip of fleece in the diaper next to her skin, then she stays dry as well. I think I'm slowly figuring out exactly what works for us.
Scout is such a joy to be around. I was just sitting out on our front stoop with her on my lap a few minutes ago. It's nice and breezy and a little bit overcast. The grass looks extra green. She just chilled there, taking everything in, staring wide-eyed at the tall oak trees. I stared at her perfect smooth skin and her bright blue eyes and thought about what she might be like when she grows up. And then she puked on me.

First off, I am SOOOOOOOOOOO jealous that you have 24 BG 2.0's! That would be so awesome! I really do like the 1 we own. It works great as a nighttime dipe.
I went with buying 12 BBH instead of buying 12 BG's for a few different reasons:
After reading about some of the laundry problems some mommas have with pocket diapers, I was scared to invest a lot of money in them. It seems like there's always someone posting (on The Pin) about how the fleece/suedecloth in their pocket dipes have mysteriously started stinking or repelling. Then they go through a big troubleshooting process, trying to figure out if it's detergent build-up, not enough detergent, hard water, etc. But I've also read plenty of accounts of mommas who haven't had any of those problems. Annika uses BG's and hasn't had any laundry issues at all. My single BG that I own hasn't caused me any problems.
Some people just think that natural fiber fabrics are easier because they generally have less repelling/stink issues. Bamboo, hemp, and wool are all supposed to have natural anti-bacterial/anti-fungal properties.
I have no idea, since I've only been CD'ing for 2 months...but I guess there's something I find appealing about using natural fibers against baby's bum. (although I do use polyester fleece liners sometimes, if I put rash cream on Scout's heiny and don't want to ruin my diapers)
I think I might be totally happy with a diaper stash that only consisted of natural fiber fitted diapers and assorted wool covers. It just seems to me that her butt would breathe better that way than with PUL covers that trap all the moisture in.
But for a daddy-friendly on-the-go diaper, I think BG 2.0's are the best!
Okay, so I think my dream dipe collection would look something like this:
36 Baby BeeHinds Bamboo One-size
3 Baby Beehinds wool wraps
2 LoveyBums wool jersey wraps
2 pairs knitted merino wool longies
2 pairs knited merino wool shorties
2 Bummis Super Whisper Wraps
12 BumGenius! 2.0
12 Undyed Indian Prefolds
Yeah....only in my dreams.....
PS - I reserve the right to change my dream diaper stash at any time, as I gain more CD'ing knowledge and try more things. :)

In fact, I'm very interested in your diapering feedback because I'm about to CD for the first time with my fourth child (due in July). So, Baby Beehinds or BG2.0?? Which do you prefer and why?
I have 24 BG2.0 right now, along with about 18 kissaluvs and PUL covers to get us through the newborn period. I'm sure I'll get my money's worth out of the BG over the course of the diapering years, I'm just wondering how I might want to grow the stash once the babe outgrows the kissaluvs.
Originally I was thinking I'd likely increase the stash with more BG, assuming they actually are All That. However, I think I'm going to try out one of those Baby Beehinds and consider doubling my stash with it.
Bravo to you for doing the cloth diaper "thing".
I, for one, was way too much of a wuss.
Hold that baby close and take lots of pictures because they grow up way too quickly.

I want so much to try the Baby Beehinds on your recommendation. Next time we have diaper money! I agree entirely with your feeling that natural is better. I love the Bum Genius but would not like to use them full-time. I can't say enough about how great they are at night, though!
Ohhh. I have the fear. I just bought 12 BG2 - and am secretly dreaming of 12 BBBamboo - my budget is quaking. It's good to read that this stuff is clogging up the brains of other people besides me!
